You might have heard stories about long labours that were hard to recover from. Or maybe just the fear of the unknown and unexpected is on your mind.

While it’s impossible to predict exactly how labour and birth will go, there are some science-backed strategies that you can do today to shorten your labour and improve your birthing experience.

Shorter labour time generally means:

  • Less overall pain = less stress! Long and challenging labours can be physically and emotionally taxing.

  • Less exhaustion which means more energy for pushing and bonding with your baby right after birth.

  • A lower risk of complications for both you and your baby which means lower chances of things like forceps and vacuum

  • A better recovery so that you can regain your energy faster and focus on your new baby.

Take steps today to shorten your labour.

That’s exactly what we want for you, and why we teamed up to create the Mini Birth Prep Guide with 5 science backed ways to shorten your labour.

Kaye Burrows (she/her)

Core and Pelvic Floor Fitness expert and Runner

  • BPE, BEd Science Minor, MuTu Pro, PN-L1, PPA.

As a mom of three, I know first hand how it feels to be living in a body that I don’t recognize.

I also live a busy and full life and I don’t have time to waste when it comes to my workouts. When I carve out time and energy to move my body, I want to trust that the exercises are building the strength and endurance I need to keep up with my busy life.

When my body feels good, everything feels better. I am more confident in my relationships at home and at work. I can be the patient mom my kids need. And I don’t hesitate to join friends on a mountain adventure.

You will find me running up and down mountains as often as possible during the summer and cross country skiing all winter. That is when I am not chasing my 3 kids around!

Michelle Friesen (she/her)

Pelvic Health & Orthopedic and Physiotherapist and Runner

  • Physiotherapist with specialization in pelvic health, orthopedic and running analysis.

As a mom of three, I have navigated return to running and sports through post-partum body changes and more recently perimonopause. As the demands of life change; keeping up with work, family, nurtition, rest and training plans has been a challenge.

Throughout my career I have pursued further education in Pelvic Health assessment and treatment, Running analysis as well many years invested in Manual treatment of Orthopedic problems. I have had the opportunity to work alongside Kaye and many others to find balance in the pursuit of staying active. You know the saying, 'it takes a village', well that analogy doesn't change in our adult life.

I want this support and education for all women. You have a lot on your plate and you care for so many other people. You deserve some of that time and care for you too.

While I have run some incredible races over the years, my primary focus these days is getting out for fresh air, taking care of my physical and mental health and keeping up with my three busy boys while hopefully demonstrating to them the dedication and passion for life long activity.

"Life changing things are happening thanks to you both and your magical programs🥰”

“Running any distance feels so good. I am so encouraged right now.”
